Hello all. My name is Conner, and I am an 18 year old male. I just moved from Mobile, AL to Pleasanton, CA. I went on my first ride along tonight, and I enjoyed it. This city seems very tame and not very "rowdy" so there really wasn't much for me to see for the three hours I was riding along. At this point in my life I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for a living. My plan as of now is to enter a community college and go for my general education, while hopefully getting an idea of what I want to do with my life. That may or may not have to do with law enforecement. I guess only time will tell. I'm sure no one really cares, but I felt like sharing.

You were able to have a 1st hand experience on how 95% of the law enforcement officers day goes.
Most of our shift is routine calls and patrols. The "glamorous" ideas of Law Enforcement are only in the movies. Continue to you interest in Law Enforcement by doing ride alongs and a reserve or auxilary program.

Good God though, if you lived in Mobile you should have already seen more action than you expected. I worked over there for a couple of years and that's all I could take. That's some fighting town! Sorry to say that you have to watch your back with both the town people, as well as the police officers over there. :eek:

Star, I never really witnessed much in Mobile, but I know that plenty goes on there. I've also heard being a police officer there isn't too great, partially because of the people there and partially because I hear the department isn't too great.
TheDoghandler, I can definately believe that tame can be good. I'm not in to always being in high stress situations, I would probably work better in a smaller city myself. I was just making an observation. :p
