Having been browsing these boards for a few weeks, I'll finally introduce myself. I mistakenly thought that the RAP SHEETS board was to post about criminals. Whoops!
I started off as an Explorer, LONG AGO, in Redlands California. When I moved to Los Angeles, to attend UCLA, I became an LAPD Explorer. I got bored at LAPD (no ride-alongs), and became a CHP Explorer in South LA. There I rose the ranks, and did ride-alongs almost everyday. One day, while on a ride-along, I got into a shootout with a bank robber and paroled murderer from Arizona (how they paroled a murderer, I don't know). For my actions, I became the only Explorer to be awarded the CHP Commissioner's Commendation for Bravery and Valor.
After that, I figured it was pretty silly to get shot at for free, so I got my AA in Admin of Justice, EMT-Basic and graduated from SB Sheriff's Academy (Reserve I, II, III). Top of my Class - W00T
Then graduated from Rio Hondo Module D Academy and was hired by the San Manuel Indian Reservation as a Tribal Officer. I quit after 3 years, to pursue the dot-com money. Now, I am an editor for Tomshardware and run my own website with police and military videos.
Hobbies
I am a Private Pilot with 150 hours and a FAA Ground Instructor. I also do ALOT of photography (wedding photography among other things).
I may get back into law enforcement in the future, as a reserve. I don't see going full-time, as the paycut would be brutal. I do miss patrol... It gets into your blood, I suppose.
I can answer any questions about the academies in SoCal. I can also answer questions about indian reservations and their law enforcement policies.
Once again, hello!
