Hello RP Members :
I was recently hired by a department in the Bay Area, and will be attending their academy in September 2004.
I am another "careerchanger" who has wanted to work in law enforcement my entire life.....but never got serious about going through the lengthy process. I finally decided that life is just too short and you gotta do what you wanna do !! I have spent the last year going through the entire hiring process and successfully made it through and received a job offer.
I will likely be one of the older students in the class (yikes, a little bit intimidating), but I am physically and mentally up to the challenge.
Glad to have this board for support and questions during my new career path !
Would love to hear from other LEO's or students from CA that recently completed a Basic POST Academy.

One of your biggest assets is maturity/life experiences. Both are attainable but it is better to already have them. Not only that, but as a rookie, some will assume that you ar enot a rookie because of your age, another plus.
