I just recently started posting on this site. I like to give information and advise since I been in the biz a couple of years. You folks ever have any questions about Airport PD, let me know. I am located in Nashville, TN.
I am an airport police officer, firefighter, and EMT. I am the EMS Director for my department and also with the Bike Unit, Hazmat Team, crime scene tech and a DUI officer. That's what is pretty good about doing both police and fire, all the training you can handle and then some. :D

Thanks for the greetings. I think I can get some patches for the patch collectors. As far as doing the separate roles, we are on a five-day work week and 4 out of those 5 I am usually in police uniform. Some days I am in the actual airport terminal, others I am on patrol. One day out of the week we are in the fire station in a completely different (and more comfortable) uniform. That's the nice day. Sit back and watch the 42" big screen, grill steaks, etc. Your fire hall duties consist of a little training and then waiting on a fire. Which doesn't really happen much at an airport unless the sh** hits the fan.
The medicals mostly occur in the terminal. We have about 18 EMT's and the rest of the officers are first responders. Of course, they prefer the EMT's to handle the medicals, which is fine with me since I enjoy doing them. But that's the great thing. It's not dealing with the repeat offenders every week or chasing folks down in the projects. We have something different every day (fuel spill, Cardiac arrest, DUI, public intox, etc).
I am working on faxing my commission info to the forum so I can get in the restricted areas. Stay safe. ;)

In my experience LEO's and fire fighters dont normally see eye to eye, does this mean you often have to disagree with yourself, and if so who normally wins :confused:
