Hey all, just wanted to say hi after finding this website on a search for some new police equipment. I'm involved in about a half dozen online forums (computer tech stuff, bicycling, etc) and I have to say I'm impressed with all the features here. I've been a cop for 15 years, work in a large dept in the western half of the country, and am currently a detective in u/c work. I've been involved in the hiring process and am an instructor of ongoing training in our dept.
My motivation for being here is to mainly help those interested in the hiring process or just want to know more about police work in general as a possible career. I'm looking forward to providing a few cents worth of experience into the mix ;)

Military Police 4 yrs, civilian PD for 18 yrs.
If you plan on staying around, check into becoming a verified Leo which only requires submitting proof of your employment as an LEO to the owner of this site, who is also a LEO. It does lend credibility to your status with those who in some way use the "name " of an LEO or otherwise portray themselves as such but are NOT cops.

Welcome, it will be nice to have someone that is involved in the hiring process, there are a lot of questions about that on here. The best ones though dont last long tehehehe, such as " I only use drugs 5 times a week can I still be a cop?" BWAHAHAHAHA :D
