Law Abiding Citizen from NY with a Knife Question:) Help?

Hello everyone I am not a police officer but just your average joe who works 9-5 and pays taxes. I am 35yrs old resident of NY/Long Island and have a particular question regarding knife carry laws. Here is my story. My wonderful grandpa passed away recently out of old age, he was 98. He was a WW2 veteran, an avid hunter, outdoorsman, member of the Boy Scouts of America, valunteer for Red Cross. Not long ago before his passing, he gave me a gift I will always cherish: 2 knives. One is a small neck fixed blade Izula 2 knife (2.5'' blade) engraved with his name and mine on it. The other is a wonderful folder Spyderco Sage 1, 3'' blade frame lock design. My question: Is it legal to carry these knives legally in NY? On the belt? in the pocket via pocket clip? I have never been in trouble with the law, and don't intend to. Just want to have a a reminder close by who my grandpa was, a great man.

While I can't answer your question about knife carrying in New York, I can say Welcome to RP from the Florida Panhandle!

Legal to carry both all over NY, including NY City (except on planes). Carry as designed or in a pocket/on a belt via pocket clip.
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.

What??!?! But they are sharp and pointy! The city that bans 16 oz beverages allows these small killing machines known as "knives?" Fat kids that can't see their feet could accidentally step on one and suffer lacerations in the schoolyard.
