We rarely used to get any international acts down here. Too far to come for them I guess.
Earlier this year Brooks and Dunn came down. It was not long before they broke up. Dierks Bentley opened for them. To be honest it was not the best show i had been to and I have spoken to several people who later said they would rather see Dierks live than B & D. It was no surprise they broke up soon after. There was just something missing from the concert.
Having said that they got a huge repsonse to ticket sales being the first BIG US country act to come down here since Garth Brooks in the early 90's (not counting Kenny Rogers who comes down here all the time to support his latest plastic surgery).
Since then Tim McGraw came down recently. My wife went and said it was great. He is already talking about returning. Sold out in no time and had to put on extra shows.
Alan Jackson is coming early next year and I have my tickets. His shows sold out in record time and again had to put on extra shows.
Bon Jovi are coming next month and my wife would kill me if we did not go to that. When they came the first time he folks said she was too young to go. When they returned the next time she was about 8 and a half months pregnant. We figured if we got tickets our son would be a C Section baby...born in the C Section of a Bon Jovi concert. This time she was not missing out and I had to sit at home the day the tickets went on sale and make sure I got some.
I am hoping more keep coming this way, but not for a while....I need to save some money.
