Can you cover your own material? Danzig shows us that you can:
This is the hit "Twist of Cain" from the first Danzig album released in 1987 and produced by Rick Rubin.
However, Danzig had already recorded this song that year, before hooking up with Rubin. Danzig, then with his band Samhain, was self producing Samhain's albums and exercising his own complete creative control. Rubin heard this song live, prior to the new Samhain album release, and immediately approached, signed, and halted this song. He then had the band rename themselves, keeping the same line-up, and re-did the song with slight lyrical changes and a new arrangement. Here is the original version:
Ironically, the first Danzig album came our two years before the last Samhain album. Here is another Samhain tune from the "Final Descent" album, one that was re-done significantly with the Danzig line-up. You can hear John Christ's distinctive guitar sound:

Alright...hold up. I just saw yo azz post something to the effect that "Iron Man" looked awesome...and now you want to spit about new moon?
