Just, out of curiosity, how many musician officers are here on the forums?
Was in a band with a prosecuter once, as well as a LEO drummer...(different band)
So, what instruments do ya'll play?

I sing? Does that count?
Bass Guitar, played in a high school and college in several bands, mostly playing alternative/heavy metal.
Eunice: A .22? Oh you've gotta be kidding me. That's like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
Detective Greenly: Yeah, or bringing a really small gun... to a gunfight.
Boondock Saint II
Piano & organ (with feet!) and sing. Guitar is my next project.
Always we begin again.
Started out playing bass but now mostly play guitar since I'm not in a band anymore. When I was it was mostly heavy metal and alternative (post Nirvana).
High brass: trumpet, mellophone, and french horn.
Oh, and here's an older thread on the subject: http://forums.realpolice.net/showthread.php?t=40244 .
Indiana: More Pro-Gun Than Texas
OFCOURSE singing is an instrument!! yes, that counts...it is how I make MY living.... :D
Took me a while to get to the guitar; was my nemisis, too many strings..especially since I started out as a classical upright bass player...six strings scared the heck out of me....
Sorry, did not search....oops.
Old band...2 years and 47 lbs ago...

I played bass in a pub rock band before the job, and have a number of 6 strings that I used to play with. The kids just twang them now.
We used to play loads of biker gigs, what a thoroughly nice group of chaps.
Gene Hunt: Anything happens to this motor, I'll come 'round your houses and stamp on all your toys. Got it? Good kids.
Singer :D Alto/Soprano:D

I play Tuba, Baritone, trumpet, some trombone and some clarinet. I played all through high school, for a short time on our county band after that and then in the Coast Guard Recruit Band during boot camp. Other than that I kind of stopped playing now... I kind of miss it, for some reason it's the one thing I always did well without a ton of effort and I sometimes regret not going that route (I was offered a position with the active duty CG Band but refused to do the "cool" stuff...).
I am a Paladin, like the warriors of old, ready to stand on the line to keep others safe... A Sheep Dog, ready to protect the herd from advancing wolves!
we've got the makings of a good funk horn band here.... :D
But I am guessing that it may be tough to get together...:p
..
Self taught drummer, I occasionally substitute for the regular Church band drummer.
King Krimson says : "The fate of Mankind is in the hands of fools"
Peter Schilling says : "It's a world of lust and crime"
Michael Jackson used to say : "Beat it"
Drums are my next project. I have been blessed with the gift of music, proficient in 7 instruments...but belting the songs is what is currently paying my bills.
My Dad is a drummer, he plays in the style of Buddy Rich...man he is incredible.
I already have the kit in my basement, which is being used my the 9 year old.
My son has really picked up the guitar, he is playing my first gig with me in June.....if I get through it without crying, it will be a miracle....:D

The site's owner plays in a commercial band still methinks.

You're lucky, I guess you met the right people at the right time.
Believe it or not I took guitar and music lessons (actually my parents made me when I was growing up) picked up the instrument part pretty good but I had to cheat to pass the written exams because I could never read those weird black and upside down symbols they call notes.
Those beginner exercises from the workbooks are real tearjerkers aren't they? ;)
Drums was a totally different trip, I used to help out with audio / video at the Church band rehearsals on Thursdays running the cables, mics, sounboard and at the end I would sit and goof around with the guitar and percussionist who showed me a few things and soon enough every time the drummer couldn't play at a Sunday service I played as a substitute.
I had just joined the music and worship ministry and didn't realize it.
Being an amateur timekeeper for a band of experienced musicians was very challenging but nobody seemed to care when I lost the beat, they were too busy singing and dancing.
