Does anyone know of police organizations that offer a auxiliary/reserve/volunteer program in the Jefferson County area? I have no law enforcement experience but would like to find a program that would allow me to volunteer and still keep my day job.

To expand on this question, I have already researched the Eastern Missouri Police Academy and plan to enroll on my own dime. I am trying to find out whether or not upon completion, and being a class A certified peace officer, if there is a police agency in Jefferson County that takes on reserve officers. And how does the reserve officer programs work? What are the hours required per month/quarter/fiscal year etc. to maintain qualification as a reserve officer? If Jefferson County does not offer such a program are there alternatives in the area?
Thanks for any info.
I believe that St. Charles, St. Louis, and Lincoln Counties all have reserve programs, as do many municipalities within St. Louis County.
I am unaware of any departments in Jeffco that have them. If the Sheriff's Office doesn't, then Arnold PD will be your best bet.
Hourly requirements vary from department to department, so there is no one "pat" answer to that question...
If you have any other questions, I'm in the St. Louis Metro Area. Send me a PM or post it out here, I'll help if I can.
