Do You need to be able to speak a second language to get/stay in intel.

I have been talking to some people about me wanting to be in Army CID. I have been to their website a couple of times seen that one of the requirements is time spent as MP, local LE, or an internship. People have been telling me to go intel. and then try to get into CID, but then I wouldn't meet the requirement of being a MP(or some other LE). So, I have two questions. What is the best route to take if I want to be in the Army CID(I know it's not an easy thing to get into) I just want some tips to help me. Also, I'm interested in intel. Are there any intel. MOS where I don't have to learn or know a second language. I'm thinking that there wasn't, I'm just checking to make sure. My ultimate goal after the military is Secret Service or US Marshal.

you do not need to be an MP. there is no MP requirement. your best bet to get into CID the fastest and smoothest is to go into an intel job with a TS clerence requirement. that is the biggest holdup on all cid apps. no intel position besides translator and interrogator require a second launguge. that LE requirement you read about can be fullfilled by a 6 month internship which is regularly offered to active duty soldiers, i used to be an investigative intern at one time. try to get counter intelligence agent. that MOS to my knowledge will fullfill all the LE requirements for the CID agency, and you will have clerences out the wazoo. feel free to PM me with any questions regarding CID. p.s. dont forget about the 60 college credit requirement.

I'm graduating college in a year and a half

I'm not worried about the college credits. After, this semester I will have 68 hours. I will be graduating Dec. 2005. Thank you for the info. I was really starting to look at intel. It seems like it will be interesting and also will give me some good skills that will help me later on.
