will (i believe its called) the montgomery gi bill (college money/scholarship) pay for college debt obtained before entry into the service or will it only take care of tuition debts obtained after signing up for the military?

i guess since that answered my question i will use this thread to ask another. how much do reserves make (working 1 weekend a month, right?). can they put more time in if they want? and do they go to basic training like active duty?
thanks.
yes they get basic training, their pay depends on rank. go to www.dfas.mil and you can find military pay charts....also realize, that when u enlist in the army you can request them to pay off your college loans as a enlistment option, plus get the GI bill to attend more school later. they will pay off you debt, just not with the gi bill
You can, at your unit's option, work "Fulltime" guard, I dunno about reserves, as I was only active and then guard... I didn't care for the Guard after being active, I didn't feel like we were ever doing anything important... of course, now the guard/reserve gets sent to more places than active, so go figure.
