Because in the real world enemy combatants and or just plain bad guys are not going to say "please" and "thank you" in a pleasant tone of voice.

Because it takes a lot of yelling to get through to a knuckle head private.
so they can get your attention and help you think under stress in combat. combat is lot of stress bullet whining over you and bunch ppl yelling at you for help people depend on the officer from west point. or other military schools. officer are under stress more. when those instructor yell they try to get you to get use to it cost you hear it lot of battlefield.
