how much of a difference is there between officer school and basic training

Ok I've seen on the military channel and all over the net and just talking to people information on basic training. However; I've never heard anyone talk about officer school and the application process and what it takes to get accepted and the type of things that a cadet will do. I'm interesting in applying but its hard to find information without talking to a recruitor

OCS was a b!tch when I went through, but that was a long time ago. The calvary charges were the worst part.... they couldn't afford horses for everyone.......

I didn't think basic was all that bad, even back in 1964. You got yelled at a lot, but the DI's couldn't hold a light to my Mother....

The PT in OCS when I went through was 4X tougher than basic. A lot more running and general PT. I lost 20+ lbs in OCS. And there was a lot more individual pressure, I thought.

Someone who's been through it a lot more recently will have much better info. I can only give it from a historical perspective.

S-CJ, you can google Air Force ROTC or Air Force Officer Training School (OTS) and get a lot of data that way. I'm sure you can do the same for the other services. Lots and lots of data on the internet
