This was recently sent to me by Sgt. Slaughter. I am taking the liberty of posting it.

Background;

Patriotic motorcyclist start an across the nation trek from LA to DC on Memorial Day weekend to honor the fallen and missing. It is named Rolling Thunder and I believe this year was the 9th annual?

In any event, the procession takes a little over three hours from beginning to end.

A lone Marine stood on Constitution Ave and saluted without rest for the three + hour procession. He did not drop the salute, but did take one drink of water with his left hand.

Enjoy, I sure did.

And, I think I can speak in my father’s behalf by saying, Semper Fi!

yes you could see it in his facial expression. it's moments when I see something like this that makes me even more proud to be a citizen of this great nation we live in, what a courageous and compelling honor to the Men and Women that make or have made so many sacrifices for my freedom.

we get a lot of vets at my job, I LOOOOOVE taking care of them it makes me feel like I am giving something back to them...mostly vietnam vets... but still it is always a honor even at 80 yrs old they still have their POW caps beside their beds.......leaves you speechless b/c you can just imagine the hell they have already endured their sickness is nothing.
