Yep. He said it was his, and he went to the police about the theft. I didn't see anything in the media reports that would remotely indicate he had stolen the rifle.

With no factual proof, how would you know this guy didn't steal the weapon and that he served his country in wartime, he could be a rookie home on leave from boot camp. It wouldn't be the first time a soldier who served his country in wartime or peacetime stole a weapon and it won't be the last time. In fact, being a former MP I've worked cases where GI's who had served during wartime had stolen M-1's, carbines and 45's and these guys were prosecuted and convicted.

Norm, under our constitution and bill of rights everyone is entitled to and guaranteed the right to express his or her opinion. I've expressed mine and if you have a problem with it, that's tough.

RP is a private entity and has established rules of behavior. By becoming a member here, regardless of tenure, is not a constitutionally protected right.

Repeated acts of defiance and inappropriate behavior that result ( and have resulted) in numerous thread closings will have one beached. There will be no more allowances. Period.

And I would counter that since he reported that his rifle was stolen to the police, that the rifle was his.

He also seems to believe certain classes of people shouldn't be allowed to own certain kinds of rifles or have them in certain areas.

Alright folks lets calm down a little bit here, We are all professionals Lets start acting like it.

    Back to the topic

“They were coming up to the car, I noticed T.J. hit the unlock button, they came up to the side of the car, they opened the door and grabbed my rifle,” said the soldier.
This is another thing that bothers me, Sounds like he had his hardware just posted up in plain view. Again not very smart If your going to carry a gun in plain view (or at least readily assessable) in da hood, your asking for trouble.. Especially an unloaded gun that you can't shoot nobody with. (Insert A$$ whipping/gun thieving here). On the flip side Say the gun was loaded and he did shoot a couple a$$clowns with it, then the media would be all over another "Combat Vet" shooting poor civilians with an "Assault" Rifle.

It was poor judgment at the least, Pure ignorance at best.

    If it were me

    1. Gun would be in the trunk.

    2. I wouldn't be "Hanging out at the apartments" with it.

    3. As soon as dipchit cuz unlocked the doors, I would have DROVE OFF.. They'll get the hell out of the way or go for a ride.

Finally, He was pretty quick to finger his cuz out. Wonder what kinda history they had?? Irregardless it's the gun owners responsibility to maintain control of their weapon... EPIC FAIL..

Chalk up another Semi auto rifle on the mean streets of ATL.
