    Intelligence Jobs in different branches...

    What's up guys,

I'm going to finish up my Associate's in Criminal Justice around May. After I graduate, I'm planning on enlisting in either the Air Force or the Army as an E-3.

I've already talked to recruiters in both branches. I talk to both at least once a week.

My father was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force before he suddenly passed in 2000. Obviously, I'm a little biased and I'm leaning towards the USAF. However, the Army is very intriguing.

I have two very similar questions for you guys regarding Intel jobs in both the Army and the Air Force:

ARMY: Which MOSs should I look at if my ultimate goal in the Army is working in Counter Intelligence? Are there are any specific jobs that would give me a better chance of being selected for CI?

USAF: Which AFSCs should I look at if my ultimate goal in the USAF is working in a Special Investigations career field? Are there any specific jobs that would give me a better chance of being selected for OSI?

After the military, I plan on becoming a police officer in a major city, specifically Atlanta, Los Angeles, or San Antonio.

Army counterintel has VERY specific requirements. Google and the Army recruiting website is your friend, here.

    IDK anything about OSI.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

Let no man's ghost say my training failed him.

Last I heard, when I was an MP stationed on Fort Huachuca (army intel training center), you had to be an E-5 in an MI slot to get CI. So pick one of the MI jobs that looks interesting, and bust your ***.

    OSI:
Enlisted Air Force members may apply for special agent duty once they've first served in another career field. Those eligible are master sergeants, technical sergeants, and staff sergeants with fewer than 12 years of military service and senior airmen with fewer than six years of service. (Grade restrictions may be waived in special or unusual circumstances.)

Airmen interested in serving as a Special Agent, should contact the nearest AFOSI detachment for the latest information regarding eligibility criteria and the application process.

There is more info at the reach of your google finger.
