I've checked the web and to my knowledge the first female MP graduated from the MP school at Camp Gordon, GA in 1951.
Pat, the daughter of a PA city police chief was straight, about 6' tall and weighed approximately 170-175 pounds and all muscle
I worked off post in Augusta with this gal and she was much of a woman and could handle the toughest DC or drunk. Off duty she was a lady, pretty tall but as pretty as a dress model.
Back then, most MP's were similar to civilian LEO's and correctional officers.
They worked closely with LEO's, had their Hqtrs. and lockup cells in PD's, escorted hard core prisoners to disciplinary facilities and guarded stockades and prisoner work details with loaded shotguns.
Post gate guard dutiy was usually assigned to new graduates.
