Army morale is MUCH, much, MUCH more unit dependent than branch dependent, and morale will vary as a result.

Certain units have a lot of morale and pride in the unit; others don't. There isn't the kind of pride in the army as a whole that you find in the marines.


As for the beret, I think it should only be worn with dress uniforms. If you're wearing camo pants and shirt, the headgear should match.
