Acceptance of Air Force officer school

I was wondering how many people a year does the school accept and also what type of degrees or people do they look at. Also are most of the people they accept recent college graduates or those already in the military, or from somewhere else.

If your talking about the Airforce academy then if your a high school student only 2 students per state get selected to go to the academy. My dumb *** brother turned down the AF academy back in 1987 and decided to go to college then join the Army.

My cousin from NY was chosen to attend Annapolis Naval Academy but she turned it down moved to Michigan to join the Naval ROTC program at UofM. She is going to be a Jagg lawyer some day.

You need to have a four year degree upon entrance. Try the website - or call your local recruiter.

The Air Force is somewhat close to the Navy as in OCS acceptance with some differences. For the Air Force they look mighty highly on technical degrees. You're also going to have be very competitive especially for a slot at OCS. That means a very high GPA, great recommendations, good school, if going for pilot a private pilots license, pass their physicals, etc. I can guarantee they only take college graduates at OCS but you dont have to be recent. If Navy OCS is any indication then they most likely take people from all over, recent college grads, college grads from a few years ago but still competitive and folks that were already in the service with degrees (Navy OCS has about 30% per class go through that were already enlisted). If you're already contemplating going to OCS then you should talk to an Officer Recruiter (they are not the same as the recruiters that you see all over the place even though they can lead you in the right direction) they're found in most cities with major colleges.

Srebeiro...LMAO! student cj, this board is all about information and the free flow of ideas but man if you are going to join the military or go into LE you will need to learn to take the initiative and use resources such as the phone book or internet to look up recruiter's or whoever that would have direct knowledge of some of the questions you have...not that the board is not a resource but it seems you ONLY use the board as a resource. It's all good though, hope I didn't come off as being harsh but it is just an observation. I could be wrong and maybe you have tried other resources.:D
    10-7....for now
