Cooperation between branches?

TPD Cadet, thanks for the link on Douglas Munro. I knew he was the only Coast Guard Medal of Honor recipient and that he rescued a lot of Marines, but not much else. Thanks for letting me in on the full story of his heroics.

Just a tad bit more of info :

The legend of Douglas Munro goes that he fought like hell and refused to pull out, stating that "you don't leave a brother behind", and as he lay on his vessal dieing he looked up and said "Are all of the Marines off, did we get them all" another Coastie looked at him and said "yeah we got em all..." and Douglas Munro passed away.

Just what the story that was told to me and many many many many many other Coasties was. I was told that that's the story that was passed down from his boat crew from back them.
