    Panama

Speaking of Panama, per diem down there is $190/day and we stay in four star hotels working an average of about 30 hours per week.

Itīs not just the AF who receives the nice hookups ;)

I've been told you cannot enlist as a Master-At-Arms though. I heard you need to have like two years in the Navy before you can do that. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It depends. When I came in two years ago MA was open to non-prior service at all paygrades. It may have closed up but you wonīt know until you talk to a recruiter.

Air Force Police is the closest thing to the real deal. The other services play alot of field exercises which MP's have to participate. Alot of my training is from state patrol divisions. I have mad respect for the others but hands down, go for AF Police!

    AF Cop

I can say from well over a decade being in the Air Force as a cop, I am very happy that I went in the AF. I got to do a lot of cop things, such as domestics, drugs, alcohol related activities, fights etc... I also had the pleasure of babysitting nukes, chasing farm animals away from nuke silos, and making sure no one took our goodies (planes, bombs, people etc...). To add to this, I had several opportunities to do things that AF cops don't usually get to do and I'll leave it at that. Do your job, know it well, and have an even temperment and you'll get to have fun too.

As for my Army counter parts, when I had contact with them, they would tell me that I had rounds in my magazine wihen carrying an M4, GAU or M16. They also would point out that my side arm was not on safe. Or tell me that my OC can wasn't safed.
To which I would always reply, ya, I know. They trust us!

With all that being said, there were a lot of BORING times when not traveling, so you will have to find yourself something that keeps you awake at night, besides the threat of Courts Martial; if you get caught sleeping.

Either way you go, they both Rock. My advice is get a coin, toss it in the air and go with fate.

Yea, the Air Force deffinetly takes care of their people so well that you will find nice living, chow hall, and the temperment is also soft. The only problem with joining a force where they preach its the easiest is that you get a lot of people that are lazy and don't want to train. That's why the Secretary lf Defense said they have been consistantly the worst Force in Iraq and Afganistan. So if you actually want to do something in your career I would not suggest the Air Force.

Thread ressurection is frowned upon around these parts, pardner.

It has been about 2.5 years since anyone posted in here; starting a new thread is the preferred method would be to start a new thread on the topic.

    I'm putting this one down.
