Which would be more beneficial:Intel or Mp(hopefully to become CID agent)

I was all set on enlisting in the Army as a Mp, and then hopefully after fullfilling all the requirements try to become a CID agent. I know it wouldn't be easy, and the chances not very high, but I was still going to try. Then, I started thinking about an intel MOS. I started reading the descriptions and thought they were interesting. I would like to do something where I spend a lot of time in the field instead of sitting at a desk in front of a computer. What intel MOS if any would allow me to work in the field and not spend the majority of my time at a desk. I understand that some time will have to probably be spent behind a desk which I don't mind. Also, which of the two do you believe would give me great training, the necessary skills, and the work experience that would help me get a job with a federal agency after getting out the military. Intel or CID, Thank You.

    DLI: Defense Language Institute

First thing you need to know. No MOS will be the perfect one for getting into Federal LE. Your skills and experience are what matter. If you are the best damn personnel guy in your unit then federal LE will take note of that. If along the way you also pick up a language, deploy a little bit, get some good decorations then even better. As far as CID goes something you may need to consider. I'm not sure if the Army is the same, but in the AF you usually can't crosstrain to another field unless you are cleared from your current career field. So if your current field is critically manned you may be stuck there. There are of course exceptions and I'm not even sure how this applies to the Army but keep that in mind.
