    About being a Warrant Officer

I was wondering when it comes down to chain of command, who has more authority: an NCO or a Warrant officer. Also, how is it that you go about becoming a warrant officer. Are they respected just like any other officer. I will be joining the army once I graduate college and was trying to get more info about an warrant officer. I would like to get into being a MP. I know that getting into OCS is a hard thing to do, so I was looking at other options. It's to late for me to get into ROTC. If I have to I will enlist, I just want to serve, be it warrant, officer, or enlisted. Money is not a top priority to me it's about enjoying what I do everyday at work.

CW2 and above can hold command. overall they have more authority, but most warrants arent in a position to use any. most dont have troops under their command, they just have a job and do it every day, such as fly. however not all MOS have warrants. only technical MOS. MP as you refered intrest in does not, however CID does, but must be an elsited agent for two years first. Pilots are the most common Warrant MOS
