It's not about the Taliban that was pissed on.

It's about the disregard for standing orders and discipline that it represents.

Like the SEAL who allegedly punched a prisoner. It's not about the prisoner, it's about the lapse of discipline.

It could have been anything: drinking on duty, disrespect to a superior... it just happened that these incidents involved desecrating a corpse and assaulting a prisoner.

Nobody, at least in the US military, cares about the corpse or about the prisoner... they do care about the lapse of discipline.

If you read more about it, that unit had discipline problems before they deployed and the Platoon Commander was one of the ones urinating on the corpse. A command climate that allows slack discipline is NOT what you want in a combat zone. The sad part is that the average Joes are going to get jacked up but the responsibility lies with their chain of command who didn't lead and train their Marines properly.
