    The Police Academy and Shaving?

I only tried shaving my facial hair twice and my skin gets seriously inflammed and irritated. The first time I tried shaving my facial hair it got so seriously inflammed that I had to go to the emergency and get a prescription. I was off of school for about two-weeks, it looks like I was having an herpes outbreak it looked so bad and gross.

The razors were brandnew and the second time it was professional Andis clippers that were cleaned properly. What I am worried about is if I go to the Police Academy will shaving be a problem and eliminate me as an candidate?

If you have a legitimate medical reason for not shaving, then you should have no problem.

Be prepared to have a letter from your doctor which explains such condition as the instructors in you academy will not simply take your word for it.

I truly apologize Samuel, I was very sleepy when I posted the message (no excuse), forgive me.

This is what I meant to say....

I only tried shaving my facial hair twice, in my life, and my skin got seriously inflamed and irritated both times. The first time I tried shaving my facial hair, the skin on my face got so seriously inflamed that I had to go to the emergency and get a prescription. I was off of school for about two weeks. The closest things I can resemble it to are the pictures of herpes outbreak you see in medical books, the skin on my face looked so bad and gross.

The first time, the razors were brand-new and the second time I used professional Andis clippers that were cleaned properly. What I am worried about is, if I go to the Police Academy will shaving be a problem and eliminate me as a potential candidate?

And thank you Jay, you're response was truly helpful. I kind of thought the same thing because when I went through the MEPS it was the same scenario, but with a note from your dermatologist, you can get what they call in the army a "shaving profile". (You all probably knew that, but thanks again!) ;)
