Just curious what u can see when u run someone's plates? can u see whether insurance is expired or canceled?

Then don't go off topic giving people advice that is inaccurate and unhelpful. I wouldn't give a penny for anyone elses thoughts either. I just wanted a simple and accurate answer to my question so I could better understand the law and what I ended up with was someone's opinion about people that drive without insurance.

As you can see by your above quoted question, there isn't anything within said question, which comes close, not even relatively, to being considered to being a question in regards to any aspect of the law.

By reading the context of your question, any police officer would assume you're driving without insurance. There is no stretch of the imagination here.

Thus they answered your question the best way they saw fit. You don't pull any strings here and the police puppets automatically do your bidding, answering anything only the way you want it answered.

If the cop doesn't have his hat on when he/she gets out of the car then you don't need your insurance. If they say anything then tell them you're going to report them for not wearing their hat.

It does say whether or not you have insurance, the question of law is whether or not YOU have "proof" of insurance in your possession. Yes you can get cited for not being able to prove it.

Same reason they ask for your registration even though it's on the back of your car, you're required to carry it and PROVE you have it.
