KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers are working to keep guns out of the wrong hands.
This weekend they're opening up the Training Division for any kind of illegal weapons, ammunition or explosives.
You can walk away without any charges and even get paid for what you bring in, depending on what it is.
Officers just ask that you unload the weapons and place them in a container before you hand them over.
Gun Amnesty Day runs from 1:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon Saturday at the Training Division on Cedar.
Police say it's important to get weapons off the street to reduce gun violence.
