Apartment rent, water charges

I've been hearing from several people, that if you have an apartment, they can't charge you "extra" for water?


I'm paying $365 a month, and then she charges an additional $30 (Just for myself she said I'll probably use that much :rolleyes: ) for water...


Is there anything that says that if they are going to charge for water, they have to charge in the rent. Not an additional fee.

I'm thinking I've heard of this before too, and this has me wondering. I didn't know she was going to charge me for water until after I paid my month of rent...I don't even get the bill...she has it...

Tell her you use bottled water and don't take showers so how can she charge you.:D:p

Are you paying rent plus utilities?
If so then yes she can charge you for water and at $365 a month for rent I wouldn't complain about $30 for water, that's only $1 a day.

In my area a cheap apartment (1 bedroom) will cost you about $650 plus utilities
