It is hard to find a book store that has good books in English, most are novels. Very low true crime books. I order a lot by amazon.de (.com), so I don't have to pay the very high s/h rates from the USA to Europe (sometimes $ 25 and more).

But, and this is the reason to open this thread, I'm unable to have a few inside and sometimes books are so expensive and so very bad. So I want to get the opinions of other LEO about good narcotic fight books.

@ suzanne, I wait the three weeks!!!! And, I know to enforce humor, do you know the dry german cynism humor we have over here????
I'm sorry, I missed that part about Germany. Okay, then

That's a good start. A lot of them are dated, but still interesting historically, and still very accurate as to the methods of operation.

Thank you for the book list. The books above I read a few years ago in German, they are very good. Esp. the Miami story about the corupt cops in The Cocaine Wars.

There are two things I'm good in, the second is arresting people

The following ARIZONA Sheriff patches are missing to complete the collection:
    Gila SO and Yuma SO

I'm looking for Drug/Narcotic Unit patches for a frame in our Anti-Drug-Team bureau

Also looking for Massachusetts Police patches, DUI-DWI units and US Capitol City PD patches now!

patchcop: To briefly go off-topic, does your Department or Narcotics Enforcement Team ever interact or coordinate with Europol and/or Interpol? What are your thoughts about their overall effectiveness?

Persoally I don't work with Euro- or Interpol. It would be too long to write down my thoughts about them. If you're really Interest in my dumb thoughts, PM me. You're welcome.

With my team we fight and bust the drug scene in out PCT. Small things, sometimes a good greater catch. Nothing to write a novel about;)

Thanks Norm, I read it the last weeks. A great read, also that the book is "a few" years old. Sometimes I spotted myself.
Any other good reads, esp. with the drug buster background?
