Honolulu PD hiring freeze?

Does anyone have any info. on the cutbacks/hiring freeze that the Honolulu Police Department is going through?

I received my results for the written exam a few weeks ago saying I had passed; but I haven't received any info. on when and where my orientation is.

When should I be expecting to continue my process? I am very eager to start the academy, which from what I read on another thread it might not be till next October.

Weren't they just looking for people at the beginning of the summer? Now there is a freeze? Hard to believe.
