I would like to know what do I need have in place to take my niece driving, she's 17 and needs to get her drivers license and I'm willing to teach her how to drive while I we both have the time.
What if she has her birth certificate on her and I have my DL, is that ok?

She will get charged with driving without a license (a criminal traffic charge she could be arrested for) and you would be charged with allowing an unlicensed operator to drive (another criminal charge you could be arrested for). Originally Posted by not-a-popo

In SC, she would first study the Drivers Handbook, then take a test to obtain a Learner's Permit, then drive under (Your) Supervision to learn how to physically perform the actions... so make sure you don't have or allow your bad habits to influence her. Typically a few (or several) weeks later, she returns to the Highway Department and takes an actual Drivers Test with an examiner.
