Did Roy Orbison wear sunglasses because he was blind, or was it because he was incredibly cool?
There's an add on t.v. for a cd collection called --"The Midnight Special", and he was one of the performers.

pac is only partially correct. Roy Orbison was indeed an exceptionally talented vocalist.
However, he wore sunglasses because when hitting high notes his eyeballs would bug out in a rather grotesque manner. This would scare the ladies away so he started wearing shades. :cool:

He had really poor vision so he had to wear glasses.
It was those coke bottle type glasses, so instead of wearing the standard thick glasses that were totally uncool he had tinted glasses that looked a lot cooler.
