"You're only mad 'cause I got away."
I locked up a suspect today who fled from me last week. While he played dumb and I explained the charges on his arrest warrant, (17 charges in all,) he complained that I was being petty.
He was charged with, among other things, fleeing and eluding, reckless endangerment, and leaving the scene of an accident. Granted, I did charge him with everything I could find that fit. My suspect told me that I was just mad because he got away.
So I sat there thinking to myself, was I really mad that he got away? No. He didn't get away. If he got away he wouldn't have been in the back of my car in handcuffs on his way to jail! He just got a few days reprieve. I told my prisoner this. He didn't say another word.

Suspect: Why am I under arrest?
Me: For posession of CDS.
Suspect: Man, it wasn't CDS! It was E pills!

Sounds to me like you were courteous to him and allowed him a few days to get his stuff in order :grin:. Great job. Be Safe.
