So I have my first oral board here in a couple of hours. Just wanted to thank everyone here for being so helpful, it's nice having a resource like this to come to. I feel pretty calm (I keep thinking about how my interviews for Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens went), unless they ask me to rip my shirt off and pretend to be a zombie it cant be that bad... wish me luck

PASSED! Talked to a background investigator after, he said they'd let me know in 2 or 3 weeks where I am on the list. Some tough situational questions, but I think I did well.

Alright, I'm #9 on the hiring list... The dept. has over 400 officers and just got off a hiring freeze they had for quite a while. I'm hoping that means lots of spots to fill!

Congrats, and best of luck to you! Be patient though, police departments are notoriously slow to move people through the hiring process. I'm in the application process for a civilian position and it's taking forever. I think its part of the hiring process
If they really want the job, they'll still be here 6-9 months later.
