Indianapolis Police Department Email Revealing Bra Sizes of Female Officers Prompts Investigation


A police union is launching an investigation after personal information about 13 female police officers -- including their bra sizes -- was sent out in an email to department supervisors at the Indiana Metropolitan Police Department.
A member of the command staff reportedly sent an email to commanders and shift supervisors, alerting them that 91 police officers -- including the 13 female officers -- needed to pick up their new bullet-proof vests.
But the email memo also included a spreadsheet attachment with sensitive information about the officers' weight and chest sizes, Fox 59 reports.
Valerie Cunningham, the department's deputy chief of professional standards, called the incident an "accident" and said there was no malicious intent on the part of the sender, according to the station.
At least one of the female police officers involved has requested legal assistance from the police union.
"That information should be kept private, " Aaron Sullivan, spokesperson for the Fraternal Order of Police, told Fox 59.
"If it's information that isn't necessary to carry out one's job function, it should be protected." said Sullivan.

Obviously, a serious offense has taken place and must be thoroughly investigated. Undoubtedly, those responsible for such heinous actions will be identified and held accountable for their grievous actions. Fortunately for the victims, the police union is there to provide them with the legal assistance they need, and hopefully, can assist them in finding the proper therapy and counseling they will certainly need to make it through this horrible ordeal.

I presume the 78 of the males have their sizes revealed too? I have a feeling the scrawny, fat and/or short guys will get a lot more ribbing than the female officers. Guys may snicker at an email about small breasts but they'll still stare at them.

And the real sensitive information isn't about size under the vest, it's the measured distance between nipple line and waist that becomes the sensitive number. I'm betting the woman with a negative distance is a tad upset that her ballistic rollup secret is out.

Who gives a crap? I mean not to be insensitive but a woman's bust size is no more important to hide then a man's waist size.

It's not like they singled the female officers out on the list, if it were me I would say list whatever you need to list as long as I'm kept safe..those measurements are important with getting the appropriate gear. I would think having life-saving gear fit you well would be an important factor not a bra size.. Jm2c..

A female Sgt. I used to work for told us in briefing one day that her male sector partners used to tease her when she worked the road that if she got into another department vehicle crash, they were going to have EMS cut her shirt open. She found it to be funny.

Correct size is important, but I think the problem was the sizes were sent out to a lot of people that didn't need to know it. The real issue is that political correctness reared its ugly head and someone thinks they'll get some money out of it. That's the usual route these silly things take.

yeah I agree with you on the silliness but still even if the email did go out to a lot of people the list was still a mixture...I could see if it was just a list of ONLY female officers then that * might* would look suspicious....or warrant an investigation..I don't know maybe I'm wrong ..
