A machete...don't have that everday in Iowa

DAVENPORT, Iowa --- A Davenport man wielding a machete is accused of injuring two people in the 700 block of North Pershing Avenue, Davenport police said.

Harry Rayton IV, 24, was being held Saturday in the Scott County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of assault while displaying a weapon, with a $1,500 cash-only bond.

He was arrested Wednesday night after one person was struck on the side and another person on the right elbow with the flat part of the machete.

Another man with him, Robert Allen Miller Jr., 21, also of Davenport, was arrested after he was accused of threatening someone with an empty liquor bottle.

Miller is also charged with misdemeanor assault while displaying a weapon. He was released from the Scott County Jail on Thursday after posting bond.

Preliminary hearings for both men are scheduled for Tuesday.
