Question How often do cops actually mail out Reckless Driving Tickets.

Situation: Got pulled over the other day, cop said that I sped up to avoid having to stop for the school bus and that it was reckless. I didn’t think I sped up but the way he was taking to me I didn’t say anything.

He then went to his car with my reg, ins, and lic and came back about 45 secs later and said :"have a nice Day" still same tone of voice. We then pulled out of the parking lot and he was behind me for about 1 mile, so I know he wasn't going to a call.

After getting home I did some research to see what I did wrong. the law hear states you have to stop for the bus when the bus is stopped, doesn’t mention anything about yellow or red lights.

And I know I wasn't speeding because I kept looking at my speed then my rearview mirror, I knew he was behind me, I just pulled onto the road about 1/2 mile prior and saw him coming.

So I'm wondering, did he let me go or is he going to mail the ticket. I am 36 years old, with +5 points with nothing on my record, with Veteran tags.

How often do cops actually mail out Reckless Driving Tickets.

You are innocent until proven guilty. If and when you get a ticket, feel free to plead not guilty and go to court and the officer will have to prove his case.

I write as many Reckless Driving tickets as people drive recklessly and I see them do it.

Having veteran tags means nothing. Tim McVeigh could have had veteran tags.

You probably got a verbal warning, I can't imagine him not issuing you one on the spot if he intended to. Rather than justify how right you were, how about paying more attention to school buses and take the time to stop for them. It won't kill you and probably won't delay you all that much.

Like mcsap said, veterans are expected to obey the same laws as anyone else.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

I met a guy last summer who has a purple heart plate because he said it gets him out of DUI's

I think he legitimately earned the purple heart, but that irritated me.

Red lights flashing on a school bus means STOP! I'm guessing your not going to get a ticket for Reckless Driving. My guess would be that if he thought you were driving reckless, he would have taken you to jail! You just have to nip that stuff in the bud like my training officer Barney Fife says!

Reading that even irritates me. Coincidentally, a few days ago I researched getting PH tags. To qualify your DD214 must be noted it was awarded or a post separation amendment indicating the award.
