A researcher from the show Stolen Voices, Buried Secrets called me while ago. They're looking to do a segment on one of my old homicides. I was called a few months ago by another show producer from that channel on the same case, but never heard back.

That's one of the more complicated cases I worked, but not the most interesting. I sorta doubt this will materialize either. They want something with twists and turns where the police were looking at one suspect and it turns out to be another. I don't think I've had any really like that.

I'd prefer getting a call from Dancing With The Stars or something.....

Starting to not look like it. As I said, this is the second call I've gotten on this same case. I don't see what so's fascinating about this particular one other than it was a b!tch to work. We knew who did it within the first week, but it took nearly a year to get enough evidence to indict.

Like most things, once the public hears the reality of something, it doesn't sound as glamorous.

We thought we knew who did it right from the get-go but we didn't have enough evidence. And our bumble-f*** LT was so worried about my colorful ties more than the cases we were doing I spent all my time writing memos. And to top it all off, the Mayor was cutting our budget. At the same time the chief was pressuring us to clear the mayor of wrongdoing in this case because our UC kept spotting someone that looked like him in the red-light district where the crime happened. Finally we got that last piece of evidence that cleared the mayor, chief and LT and pointed right back at our original suspect and we obtained indictments and a conviction. IA didn't want any part of that investigation and were very relieved the last piece of evidence didn't point to those people.

That's made-for-tv material right there. Make it into a LT-Mayor-Chief love triangle and we're talking awards. Just change their names and your fine. ;)

If I combined 4 or 5 cases I worked over the years, I could just about match that scenario close enough to be a little scary......
