There's a trial on at the moment here in Melbourne, it's such a tragic murder, I know, murder is a tragic event . . but when it involves kids . . .
Arthur Phillip Freeman, 37, of Hawthorn, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Darcey on January 29, 2009, by throwing her 58 metres to her death on what was supposed to be the child's first day of school.
The older brother of a four-year-old girl thrown from the West Gate Bridge by their father asked him repeatedly to go back for his sibling because the little girl could not swim. In a video of a police interview played to the Victorian Supreme Court this morning, the boy, then aged six, told a policewoman he did not hear his sister make a sound as she was tossed over the bridge railing.
