Whenever I see one of those signs I look up, and so far I've never seen an aircraft.

I also rearly see FHP doing aircraft speed enforcement. They do tend to focus more in HIllsborough County and in Troop D in Orange County.

I am a victim of the Florida Highway Patrol Aircraft! Trust me, they do exist! It was back in 1989 and we were on our way to Daytona Beach for spring break.

Oregon State Police used to use aircraft, but I suppose it got too expensive. They switched to using M/C cops instead. The planes didn't have that firepower though, they were little Cessna 152's or 172's.

There weren't any when I started, but they came back about 10 years or so ago. They work mostly the freeways in the metro area. Originally Posted by Safety Steve

At some point, saner heads took over the program and we rarely have guys crash now.
