I am sure all sorts of agencies the across the nation will take immediate steps to change their uniforms to your liking.
I'm waiting with bated breath for the memo and uniform check.
This career is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
We had a local department recently change from tan to a dark blue. The official reason was that the specific tan they had was too expensive. They could have went to a different tan but left it up to the officers and they chose a dark blue despite the summers here. Also they chose black t-shirts instead of white in order to remove the "white triangle of death."
Now it seems all the municipal depts have dark Blue and all the sheriffs offices and DPS have Tan. And if you have dark blue, the badge is a shield but if you have tan, the badge is a star. Not any data to support it, just looking around.
I can't speak to how well a color does for each job or whether brown for rural and blue for urban is a tactical advantage. I hope that fashion is never the reason for the choice and they get the best gear for the money they've been allocated. A department that spends extra to color match a uniform that was dropped 10 years ago while also laying off needs to adjust it's priorities. As a civilian, I don't really care what the color is as long as it looks professional and can be worn with pride. If it looks cheap and sloppy, the officers look cheap and sloppy and then get treated cheap and sloppy. That's neither good or safe.
Is it las vegas that has the bright canary/safety vis polo shirts? Now those guys look sharp! For miles.

I am not sure which part of Florida you live in I live in North Florida close to Jacksonville, The county wears green, city wears black and state troopers wear tan....so there is a significant reason I am sure.
Yeah I kind of agree with Cat on this, I remember once at my job they was trying to make us go to one color nursing scrubs..... I have been at my job for ten years so you can just imagine my closet....It became a big ruckous and did not go over very well we even pulled the card.... but that sad depressed patient cheers up when they see such n such on our scrub smocks ( which is true BTW) so we won the battle THANK GOD! or I would have been ticked.

I brought it up at our command staff meeting that a criminal justice student hated tan/over green and only wanted to see dark blue or black uniforms on our law enforcement personnel.
We quickly moved on to the next agenda item without an iota of consideration.
Sorry, CJ, I know how much this must upset you, but I tried.

Don't forget about gray. I wore gray at two of my past departments. One with black pants, the other with dark blue pants...
