Don't forget about gray. I wore gray at two of my past departments. One with black pants, the other with dark blue pants...

The local sheriffs office has a gray shirt and black (or dark gray not sure) pants. I think the pants might have a red stripe down the leg.

First most uniforms aren't black. Black shows dirt. The color is often LAPD Blue or Midnight Blue. Don't underestimate green, I thought it looked bad until I worked with PBSO at night.

I might be in the minority, but I hate seeing tan police uniforms or the dark green uniforms that I have seen in Florida. Dark blue I'm fine with and black are the only 2 color uniforms I want to see
