Multi-quoting on the other hand, is a matter of style and choice, of which I don't even agree with if you have lots of graphics, or lots of wording, or you are doing something for emphasis, etc., etc., etc. . So THERE. HA.
The periods within/without quotation marks is a minor error. I've yet to hear a single such complaint from anyone who reviews my reports, including prosecutors and defense lawyers.

As for promotion, I don't want one. I would decline it today if it were offered... although that's more a result of internal politics particular to my agency than anything else. In three years and three months, I'm freeeeee.

Relax Curtsie, it is indeed minor in the big scheme of things. I just happen to be anal about it because I've written so many formal papers in my life....the way you'd be anal about holding a gun properly My comments were for Greggie, not for you anyway, LOL.....you can rely more on your performance over the years....youngins have to prove themselves in other ways since they have less experience to be judged on.

And I will cut and paste the rule from the internet for your reference:

Rule 1. Periods and commas always go inside quotation marks, even inside single quotes.
Examples: The sign changed from "Walk," to "Don't Walk," to "Walk" again within 30 seconds.
    She said, "Hurry up."
She said, "He said, 'Hurry up.'"

Very cool. And only three years left. I'd call that heavenly
