As some of you know, I am on my third dept.
I was promoted in my last dept to Senior Constable and then resigned before moving states.
When I started here at my current dept I had to go back to being a First Year Constable (FYC) and start all over again. They do offer an accelerated progression path and I was getting paid at a higher level.
Well in November I finished my course for Senior Constable and was promoted on the weekend to Senior Constable...AGAIN!!As far as pay goes, the promotion is getting back dated to 12 November so early next year I will get a nice little pay packet. That should ease the damage done by Christmas.
I discussed it with my OIC yesterday and he has given me some advice to follow up on how to rapidly make it to SGT so that I can relieve him while he is away and get myself in good stead for a quick step up to OIC/SGT roles.
In a station of only ten that makes me 2IC...better start learning stuff now...people are watching.

I would've thought having a similar system (Judicary wise) the promotion system would be the same. If you're a sergeant in force A you could transfer to force b and keep the rank.
