Just seen on the news tonight. Will try and find the footage I just saw that showed that this woman was a POS.

Cop stopped her for traffic stop. She was wearing a full burqa. She went off at him and then made a false complaint against him of racism. Luckily for him he had footage of the stop. She obviously did not know that.

She got sentenced to 6 months jail (but of course is out on bail).

A Sydney woman is appealing against a jail sentence for making a false complaint about a police officer.

Carnita Matthews from Woodbine in Sydney's south west made a complaint to Campbelltown police after she was pulled over for a random breath test in June.

She had been given an infringement notice for not properly displaying her P-plates.

But Matthews said the officer was racist and only booked her because of what she was wearing.

She later claimed the officer had tried to remove her veil, which concealed her entire face, except for her eyes.

The 46-year-old has been found guilty of 'making a false complaint to police'.

In giving her a six-month jail sentence, a magistrate described her actions as "deliberate and malicious".

Matthews has been granted bail and is appealing against the conviction and sentence.

Hijab woman accused police of being racist | Herald Sun

A POLICEMAN accused of trying to pull off a Muslim woman's headdress has told a Sydney court he isn't a racist.
Senior Constable Paul Fogarty pulled over Carnita Matthews, 45, on June 8 this year at Woodbine in Sydney's southwest.

She later filed a police complaint claiming he tried to pull off her hijab, which concealed her entire face except for her eyes.

Mr Matthews was subsequently charged with one count of knowingly making a false complaint.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge in August, and at Campbelltown Local Court today her lawyer, Stephen Hopper, said police had failed to verify the identity of the person making the complaint.

This means they cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was his client who made it, Mr Hopper said.

Const Fogarty, of Macquarie Fields Highway Patrol, told the court he twice asked Ms Matthews to remove her veil because he couldn't fully see her face.

"I gestured for her to lift her hijab,'' he said.

"I said I just wanted to verify. I then gestured to her to lift her hijab.''

A police video of the incident, which was played to the court, showed Const Fogarty approaching Ms Matthews' black Honda Odyssey and checking her identity.

He then issued her with an infringement notice for not displaying her green P plates properly.

At this point Ms Matthews becomes irate, accusing Const Fogarty of being "racist'', according to the police video.

"All cops are racist,'' she is heard saying.

"You know you are giving me a ticket for crap.''

Police prosecutor Lisa McEvoy asked Const Fogarty if he objected to being called racist. He agreed, saying: "Because I'm not.''

"Did it have any bearing on you that she had a face veil?'' Ms McEvoy asked.

"It (issuing the fine) was because she did not have her P plates showing,'' he replied

The hearing will continue tomorrow.

Would never happen here. I was once accused of racism by the mayor of Portland because I wrote a memo in 1985 saying that the Bloods and Crips were running crack houses here. I learned that from some street people while working the homicide of a street dealer.

Less than 6 months later, we had our first drive by shooting.

Every police car should have video and audio. Every police officer should at least record personal audio.

Just once I would like to see a spokesman group's treat members as individuals instead of always defending them. maybe the news people edited it out but a simple "She does not reflect the vast majority of Muslims. We are abhored by her false accusations especially in light of how difficult it can be to lead a strict religious life in a secular society. We thank the constable involved for his professionalism and demonstrated respect of our culture and religion even if this woman did not deserve it." But we never get that. Seriously if that Muslim group in the video had a good PR department, they would award that constable for his cultural sensitivity.

Our force now has a number of Body Cams that clip to the officers stab vests for when they are deployed on Public Order events. Only a few of the Traffic cars have visual recording and they only record audio inside the car, not audio outside like that clip. As the video above shows, visual and audio recordings can save an officers reputaion and career...
