At least that poor guy didn't get his feeling hurt and all the hippies can go home feeling good about the 'oneness' of the world!
I'm not that old, but in my USMC training days, when attacked from a direction - everyone turned and immediately opened up while assaulting the threat. Likewise, the prescribed way to clear a room was toss in a garage, spray the room THEN enter. I bet those poor guys now have to have a JAG officer with them on patrol!
Under attack...Sir, can we respond?
What color are the tracers?
Uh, we are pinned down.
Can you see a target? If so, are you sure they are firing at you?
Can we have an airstrike?
Neg, too much paperwork. Perhaps you should try to make contact first and find out why they feel the need to attack us.
(silence)
God bless those guys for what they have to put up with these days!
For me, before there was the Thin Blue Line, there was the Blood Stripe! Semper Fi!
Our fear reminds us that we are not God, our faith reminds us that He is!
