Either legalize it OR decide that it is a real drug, worth taking seriously, and not give it it's own status of "illegal, but all that can happen is a slight fine therefore no one will even enforce the law against it, but still illegal none the less."
Someone on here from Arizona pointed out to me once that possession of any amount is a felony there. Fine. That state has decided that it actually is a problem and they have made it a real crime. At least they take seriously what they ban.
I will say that I come down on the side of legalization between the two. As has been pointed out, alcohol has probably done more harm than weed. And what about the low life stoners that will suck up public money that some love to reference? Haven't you seen plenty of low life alcoholics who lie and steal and live off of public assistance? I have. Sorry, that's my opinion. And no, I'm not some stoner.
