A day that will be remembered for all times.
RIP to all those murdered that day, and a special thought for those that went down in that field. It's better to go down fighting than die on your knees.
This was truly a world event.
I think of this story each year, but on 9/11 I was working in a small town in South Australia - about 30 000 people. In that town I knew one couple who had a son who was working in one of the WTC buildings and was killed. Another woman I worked with had a son who was in the SAS and was posted to the Pentagon on exchange. He was present that day and for some time she could not contact him to know if he was dead or alive. That hit home that even in a small town in South Australia I knew two people directly affected by it...not to mention the fact that brothers in arms had been killed. Brother I never knew but still mourn to this day. It could have been any one of us anywhere in the world that just happened to go to work and do our jobs.
RIP forever.
