Sir that is a very legitimate complaint. Sometimes the "computer" is too unfair.

One of the dumbest was a call of a break-in and threatening with a knife at a residence. Respond to the residence with another deputy and an old man (the complainant) answer the door, explaining that his "ex-girlfriend" had broken in through one of the windows while he was out and helped herself to a shower. About that time "ex-girlfriend" comes walking out from a back room towards the front door, completely naked (both the complainant and the "ex-girlfriend" were in their 70's). We ask the "ex-girlfriend" to go put some clothes on so we can get her side of the story, and the complainant tells us about how they got in a fight about her breaking into his house and she grab a knife (but did not attack him or do anything further with it). The other deputy asked, "Why do you think she decided to break in your house?" and the complainant responds, "We'll I'm still f**cking her and all."

Arrested the "ex-girlfriend" for Criminal Trespass... if only there had been a charge for stupidity for the complainant.
    Love this one. LMAO.

I had a series of 'raccoon moving about in daylight calls'. Seems RP was concerned about it being rabid. (It was dusk).

Got an intruder call one night from a woman who clearly had dementia. I know this because she called the intruder 'The Thin Man' who would fold himself up and hide in various shoe boxes. After about 10 minutes with her (she was old and social services were on the way), she started to freak me out a bit because she completely believed it. She kept hearing things and leading me about the house. Finally, I had enough and told her that he wasn't real. He WAS she said. I asked where he WAS then. Her eyes got huge and said in a meek voice. 'RIGHT BEHIND YOU!' That freaked me out admittedly. I had her come out and sit on the porch in the sunshine with me. I've seen way too many movies to deal with that much longer. My Sgt dropped by to have a good laugh, but you really should have seen those eyes!
For me, before there was the Thin Blue Line, there was the Blood Stripe! Semper Fi!

Our fear reminds us that we are not God, our faith reminds us that He is!

**DISCLAIMER** I'm not a current LEO, but have six years experience with two city PD's in NC and TX as a sworn officer. I'm in the process of returning to LEO work ASAP.
